Bradford Council has received two separate applications for new meat processing plants in the city.
Global Halal Foods Ltd, based at Iron Works Business Park on Bowling Back Lane, wants to turn a neighbouring industrial unit into a 1,068 square metre abattoir.
And the Pakeezah group has lodged plans to turn a car repair workshop on Percival Street into a cutting plant with storage facilities for its neighbouring food shop.
It estimates it will create up to five new jobs, and will cut down on the number of deliveries made to the store.
Both applications will be decided in April.
