A group of pals will be donning disguises to raise cash for a cause close to their hearts.

Jenny Hannigan and her friends are hosting a Masquerade Ball at Bradford’s Midland Hotel on Saturday, September 28, to raise funds for The Jennifer Trust and Cancer Research UK.

The event follows their successful wedding dress ball last year which raised more than £4,000 for the trust which Jenny is eager to support in appreciation for the help given to her and her family following the devastating death of their son Lucas.

Lucas was four months old when he died from the rare condition, spinal muscular atrophy, an inherited neuro-muscular condition affecting nerve cells in the spinal cord.

Jenny said: “We wanted it to be a bit more inclusive,” referring to the fact they all wore their wedding dresses at the previous event.

“It’s a sexy sequel to the wedding dress ball.”

Guests can request for part of their donation to Cancer Research in memory of someone they know who has battled the disease.
