A councillor is backing a campaign to improve bus services for elderly people in Rawdon, who say they are being isolated.
Guiseley and Rawdon councillor Paul Wadsworth said he supported the campaign by people in the Rawdon Billings area to bring about improvements to the services.
He said: “What we need are bus services that meet the needs of the local community and that cater for local journeys, not services that happen to pass through the area and don’t get local people where they want to go.”
People in and around Billing View say they are struggling to get to their community centre as well as shops and other facilities because of a lack of adequate transport links.
Metro says it will be conducting a consultation exercise, including drop-in sessions and on-line questionnaires, later this year.
