Batley and Spen MP Mike Wood is holding a public meeting to encourage a fightback against National Health Service reforms.
He hopes to organise a local campaign against the “increasingly privatised market” in which companies will be able to bid to provide NHS services from April 1.
On that date the newly-formed North Kirklees Clinical Commissioning Group takes over the managing and commissioning of the majority of health services in north Kirklees.
Mr Wood (Lab) said there was a loophole which meant such clinical commissioning groups didn’t have to participate in the new “privatised market”.
The meeting is at 10.30am on Saturday at Batley Town Hall.
