A family of four escaped a house fire in Four Lane Ends yesterday after smelling smoke.
The boiler in the Lytton Road property’s basement had set alight at about 8.15am.
The fire is believed to have been sparked by an electrical fault in the boiler.
Crew commander Rob Jones, of Fairweather Green fire station, said the terraced house didn’t have a smoke alarm.
