Police yesterday seized class A drugs worth more than a million pounds from a dealer’s safe house in Bradford, as part of an ongoing crackdown on drug dealing in the district.

It is the second seven-figure haul of drugs in Bradford within three months.

The latest raid, part of the ongoing Operation Sabredale, which started last year, took place at a property in Lister Court, Cunliffe Road, Manningham.

Officers also recovered several thousands of pounds in cash and drugs-related paraphernalia from what is believed to be a safe house for storing drugs.

Operation Sabredale focuses on seizing drugs, cash and firearms, and teams of officers are raiding addresses throughout the district during the two-week police blitz.

Four men, aged 33, 30, 23 and 21, were arrested in connection with the supply of class A drugs during the Manningham raid. They remain in police custody.

The first week of the latest operation had already seen the seizure of £278,000, suspected drugs valued at £22,000, a shotgun cartridge and 60 vehicles.

One of the biggest hauls of heroin to be found in Bradford – more than a million pounds – was recovered last November at an industrial compound at Lessarna Court, off Bowling Back Lane.

Bradford District Chief Inspector Dan Greenwood said of yesterday’s haul: “This is clearly a significant seizure and represents the impact which Operation Sabredale is continuing to have across the district.

“Neighbourhood Policing Team Officers will be patrolling the area around Cunliffe Road should anyone have any concerns or are able to assist in our ongoing inquiries.

“Likewise, residents can call us, absolutely anonymously, via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
