A 30-year-old man has been sentenced at Bradford Crown Court to eight months’ imprisonment, suspended for two years, for dangerous driving and driving with no insurance.

Nain Sadik sped off down Oak Lane, Manningham, Bradford, when police tried to box him in because they suspected him of drug dealing.

Prosecutor Ian Brook said yesterday that Sadik, of Toller Lane, Bradford, reached speeds of 70mph in a black Seat Leon on June 20 last year.

Sadik handed himself into the police the next day.

His barrister, Richard Wright, said it was only about a minute of dangerous driving and he had admitted the offences. He did not realise it was a police vehicle because it was unmarked.

Judge John Potter ordered Sadik to attend a responsible road users’ course and banned him from driving for two years.
