A school which was placed in special measures four years ago has been rated as 'good' by Ofsted.
St Francis Catholic Primary School was deemed to be unsatisfactory in 2009, with inspectors saying it was “failing to give its pupils an acceptable standard of education”.
The school, in Myers Lane, came out of special measures in 2010, when inspectors rated it as satisfactory.
Head teacher Daniel Copley said staff, parents, pupils and parishioners had all worked hard to bring about the improvements.
He said: “We are delighted with this extremely accurate and glowing report.”
