The pros and cons of the European Union will be debated at an event this month.

A panel of experts will discuss what’s wrong and what’s right for Britain’s business and commerce at the event at Skipton’s Rendezvous Hotel on Thursday, February 21.

Chaired by the Deputy Speaker of the House of Commons, Nigel Evans MP, the panel includes Euro MPs Mike Nattrass and Edward McMillan-Scott, Westminster MPs Julian Smith and Gerry Sutcliffe and Neil Hamilton, who is making a comeback into politics as a member of UKIP.

Putting the questions are three entrepreneurs with business interests both in the UK, Europe and overseas – Barry Dodd, chairman of GSM group, who also chairs the York, North Yorkshire and East Riding Enterprise Partnership, Alan Halsall, of Broughton-based Silver Cross Prams, and Dennis Mendoros, of Kelbrook-based Euravia. The discussion will include questions from the floor.

“We are all affected and will carry on being affected by the European Union whether we like it or not,” said Rendezvous owner Malcolm Weaving.”

Tickets cost £20, which includes a two-course supper. Call the hotel on 01756 700100.
