A children’s charity in Skipton has been given £2,000 of ill gotten gains.
Skipton Extended Learning For All (SELFA) will use the money for holiday workshops for 75 children and young people.
Charity co-ordinator Emma Pears said: “We are thrilled to have been successful in our application to the fund. This is a really great boost to the charity which will help us extend our work and provide many more opportunities for young people across the Skipton area.”
The money came from North Yorkshire Police’s Why should they? campaign fund 2012, launched to support the Proceeds of Crime Act which gives the police and criminal justice partners the power to seize cash and assets.
Temporary Chief Constable Tim Madgwick said: “It is an honour to be able to pay tribute to all the fantastic work going on in our communities to improve the quality of life for local people.”
