A clutch of care homes in Bradford is joining a campaign to help dementia sufferers.
National care home operator Elder Homes Group wants to create the perfect environment for people suffering with dementia.
As part of the care, reminiscence pictures, books and items from the past are seen as a key to creating healthy surroundings for not only the elderly, but for those suffering with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease.
The group’s four care homes in the Bradford area involved are Duchess Gardens Care Centre, Bingley; The Links in Kismet Gardens, Barkerend; St Ives Disabled Care Centre, St Ives Estate, Bingley, and Beck Croft Residential Home in Beck Lane, Bingley.
Elder Homes is appealing for any old items, such as a 1950s radio, 1920s lipstick case or a regional history book for a dedicated reminiscence box.
To donate items, contact the homes directly.
