A cadet commander in Allerton, Bradford, has received a prestigious accolade in recognition of his dedicated service.
Second lieutenant James Windle (right), who is Allerton Army Cadet Commander, was sent a letter of appreciation from the Reserve Forces and Cadet Association.
Mr Windle, who has been an army cadet force instructor for seven years, said: “It maybe seven years, but it only feels like yesterday when I started.”
He added: “I am very happy to have received a letter of appreciation. It is always nice to know that your hard work has not gone un-noticed, however, knowing that I have served seven years is starting to make me feel old.”
Mr Windle has worked at different detachments in D Company, including Bingley and Odsal, and he is the commander of Allerton Detachment. Mr Windle has a passion for shooting within D Company, but the thing he enjoys most is training cadets at both his detachment and on company weekends.
