Dominic Grace’s play Rabbitskin premieres at Bradford University’s Theatre in the Mill on Monday.
It was commissioned by West Yorkshire Playhouse and developed as part of WYP/Theatre in the Mill new writing season in 2012.
Joe can name his 20 favourite authors straight off the top of his head and quote his favourite books perfectly. He’s a master storyteller like his father, a man who can make the ghosts and monsters of Irish legends seem as real as the rabbits he skins and cuts up on the kitchen table.
Stripped right back to the performer, Luke Adamson, in a simple bare space, Joe's charm and confidence mask a deeper vulnerability.
This hard-hitting monologue takes issues such as mental health, violence, problem families and makes them real and personal through the character of Joe, an intelligent, articulate, troubled teenage boy.
Dominic Grace’s work includes Goodnight Mrs Thatcher; It’s A Lovely Day Tomorrow; Play Up, Play Up; Riot, Rebellion & Bloody Insurrection; and Love Me Contender. The play is on from January 29-31, starting at 7.30pm. For tickets ring (01274) 233185.
