Mike Leigh’s sublime comedy Abigail's Party is heading to Bradford this spring and summer.
The show, running at the Alhambra from May 6 to 11, stars Hannah Waterman as the monstrous Beverley, whose attempts to host a drinks party for her neighbours, complete with pineapple and cheese nibbles, endless gin and tonics and Donna Summer on the stereo, don’t quite go to plan.
Lindsay Posner’s acclaimed revival of the play comes to Bradford following a triumphant West End run.
Still one of the nation’s most popular comedies, Abigail’s Party is an iconic piece of theatre, thanks to Leigh's ruthlessly accurate and painfully funny observations of life in suburbia.
Also coming to St George’s Hall, from July 18 - 20, is Aquaria, the story of the goddess of the deep, and Grandpa In My Pocket – a live version of the CBeebies show.
