An Otley man has been killed in a collision early today.
Police are appealing for witnesses following the death of the 21-year-old man in a road traffic collision at Beckwithshaw, near Harrogate.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene of the incident after his silver Ford Focus collided with a tree on the B6162 Otley Road at around 12.15am today.
No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the collision.
Officers are appealing to anyone who witnessed the collision, which occurred at the junction with the B616, or saw the Ford Focus prior to the incident, to contact them with information.
Traffic Sergeant Trevor Burton, of North Yorkshire Police’s Roads Policing Group, said: “Unfortunately, this collision has resulted in the death of a young man and we need to establish exactly how the incident occurred.
“Witnesses will be vital to our investigation and if you have any information that can help, I urge you to come forward as soon as possible.”
