Trading Standards officials are warning Bradford people who are tempted to buy electrical goods from the back of vans not to be so hasty despite wanting a bargain.
Although a new television at a knock-down price might be hard to resist, it could well turn out to be a scam, according to Chief Officer of West Yorkshire Trading Standards Graham Hebblethwaite (pictured).
He said itinerant traders are selling DVD players and other electrical appliances from the back of vans. “It’s only when the consumer unwraps the TV or goods at home that it becomes clear that they have not received the item they have contracted for.”
