A car knocked over a lamp-post after the elderly driver apparently suffered a mini-stroke at the wheel.
No other vehicles were involved in the crash, which happened on Church Street in Keighley yesterday afternoon.
The road was partially blocked while ambulance staff attended the casualty.
A spokesman for the ambulance service said the man’s injuries as a result of the actual smash were not serious.
The man, who was driving a Toyota, was taken to Airedale General Hospital for treatment.
