A fault in a storage heater started a fire on the ground floor of the Lister Mill apartments complex in Manningham just before 5am yesterday.
The occupant of the flat was alerted by a smoke detector and got out before a fire crew from Fairweather Green arrived.
Firefighters used a dry powder to put out the flames.
