Plans to re-open a riding school have been delayed until more road safety work is done.
Members of Leeds City Council’s Plans Panel South and West had been advised to approve a scheme that would create a new outdoor riding area and add an office to stables at Pool Court Arena, off Pool Bank New Road, Pool-in-Wharfedale.
But members, after hearing residents’ concerns about access to the site from Councillor Barry Anderson (Con, Adel & Wharfedale), decided to delay a decision on the scheme.
Discussions will concentrate on:
* adding a condition to restrict the size, and/or weight, of vehicles that can enter from, or leave onto, Pool Bank New Road
* investigating the possibility of introducing a right-turn ban from the road into the school's access track l Improving access to the riding school.
