Wibsey Primary School has been praised by Ofsted for its inspirational leadership.

Inspectors have judged the school, in North Road, Wibsey, Bradford, to be good for the first time since 2000.

In their report, the inspectors said: “Pupils make good progress and achieve well through the school.”

When assessing the leadership and management, they said: “The head teacher’s inspirational leadership has been central to the school’s good improvement since the previous inspection.

“Leaders work well as a team and have high ambitions for the school.”

Head teacher Nigel Cooper said: “Staff, governors, pupils and parents have all worked hard to bring about the improvements which have led to Wibsey Primary being judged good.

“This is a whole school community achievement of which we are all very proud.”

Chairman of governors Brian Feather said: “This ‘good’ judgement is the culmination of several years of hard work. It is an accurate reflection of the good education children are receiving at Wibsey Primary School.”

Coun Ralph Berry, executive member for children’s services, said: “This is excellent news for Wibsey Primary School.”
