Bradford West MP George Galloway has protested against animal cruelty outside a department store in London.
He was campaigning against the sale of foie gras at the Fortnum & Mason shop in Piccadilly.
Respect MP Mr Galloway brandished a replica of the metal pipes used to force-feed geese during foie gras production and holding a sign that read, It's Commons-Sense: Stop Foie Gras Sales.
Mimi Bekhechi, PETA associate director, said Mr Galloway was protesting about cruelty to animals on French goose farms that supply Fortnum & Mason’s foie gras distributor.
She said: “It’s hard to believe Fortnum and Mason's claims to be ‘quintessentially English’ when it sells a product that’s illegal to produce in the UK and that has been condemned by MPs, royalty and a variety of British icons, including Sir Roger Moore and Dame Vera Lynn.”
