Replacement recycling bins cost Bradford Council £9,000 last year.
Records show that for the 12 months to the end of March, 503 recycling wheelie bins were replaced for a variety of reasons at an average cost per bin of £18.50.
This amounted to an annual cost of £9,305.50.
While residents must pay for replacement wheelie bins for standard household waste, the bins for recycling are replaced for free.
