Revised timetables are being run over the Christmas and new year holiday period for Bradford Council's leisure centres and pools.

All the centres will be opening as normal up to and including Sunday, December 23, and then closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day.

Some of the larger facilities – Keighley Leisure Centre, Eccleshill Pool, the Richard Dunn Sports Centre, Shipley Pool and Thornton Recreation Centre – will reopen on Thursday, December 27, but with different opening times.

Those that are shut from December 23 until January 2 include Bingley Pool, Bowling Pool, Horsfall Stadium, Ilkley Pool, Manningham Sports Centre, Marley Activities and Coaching Centre, Nab Wood Sports Centre, Tong Sports Centre and Queensbury Pool.

Keighley Pool has been closed for two months whilst essential maintenance work is carried out in the plant room and will reopen on Wednesday, January 2.

The other sports facilities at Keighley, such as the fitness centre, sports hall and sauna, will be open over the holiday period, but closed on New Year’s Day.

People are being advised to check the opening times before they set off and to bear in mind that exercise classes are running on revised programs during this period.
