Man arrested following theft from store in Bradford city centre today

Police swooped to arrest a 42-year-old man who is now in custody after reports of a theft from a store in Bradford city centre today.

The alleged incident happened at the Marks & Spencer store just after 11am.

A man was arrested by officers in the Broadway area of the city.

A handbag has been recovered by officers.

A member of the public, who did not wish to be named, said: " At one point, there were four police vehicles parked near the old Acropolis cafe, so it was obviously quite a big response."
