The M62 eastbound was closed this afternoon following a crash
The M62 has re-opened after being closed for almost three hours following a crash which saw a van sandwiched between two lorries.
All three lanes eastbound near to junction 27 (Gildersome) were shut at 3pm after the pile-up, which happened at 2.35pm.
Police said the Transit van crashed into the back of a lorry and then another HGV ploughed into the back of the van.
A police spokesman said all three lanes had been re-opened by 6pm. The man driving the van was freed from his vehicle by firefighters and his injuries were not believed to be life-threatening.
Queues on the eastbound carriageway from the crash scene stretched back to Ainley Top near Huddersfield.
