The chairman of Bradford’s City of Film board has received an honorary degree from Bradford College.
Bradford-born film producer Steve Abbott’s movies include Brassed Off and A Fish Called Wanda, and he is the executive producer of Michael Palin's TV travel programmes New Europe and Brazil.
Mr Abbott was honoured at a graduation ceremony at St George’s Hall yesterday, along with British Film Institute director Amanda Nevill, former head of the National Media Museum.
Bradford-born BBC Look North presenter Harry Gration also became an honorary fellow, as well as former students Balbir Panesar, the founder and managing director of PEC Building Services, and Yvonne McGregor, Olympic medalist in the 2000 Sydney games.
