Running shoes worn by six-time Olympic gold medal winner Usain Bolt are finally being auctioned by a Bradford licensee to raise cash for a cancer charity later this month.
Audrey Coyne won the Jamaican champion’s running shoes in a raffle at a fundraising ball marking Jamaica’s 50 years of independence after writing her name on four £10 notes and entering them into the lucky draw in July.
She now wants to raise as much cash as she can because she will be making a “sizeable” donation to the Jamaican Society if she gets more than £3,000 and has registered the boots with Special Auction Services, based in London, who will auction them between November 20 and 21. Miss Coyne runs the Boy and Barrel in Westgate and appeared in Channel 4’s recent controversial Making Bradford British show.
