More than 600 Bradford schoolchildren will be among 3,000 young musicians performing at a Schools Proms at the Royal Albert Hall next week.
The Vivendi Sounds Bradford Massed Ensemble is taking part in the Youth Schools Proms concert featuring 41 groups from across the UK.
A series of concerts starting on Monday features young people aged seven to 21 performing different types of music, including orchestral, rock and pop, choral, samba, jazz and folk.
Each night will host a different large-scale ensemble beginning with Bradford youngsters.
To create the Vivendi Sounds Bradford Massed Ensemble, Music for Youth has worked closely with the Bradford music and arts service, bringing together on one stage 600 young people from a variety of educational and musical backgrounds and sectors district-wide, including secondary schools, three music services and community arts organisations.
Music for Youth has commissioned composer and multi-instrumentalist Joe Broughton to create an educationally and artistically-inspiring piece, reflecting the diversity of cultures in the Bradford district.
Tony Johnson, head of the music and arts service in Bradford, said: “The project is a fantastic opportunity for the district’s new Music Education Hub to bring together such a wide variety of groups from across the district.”
