Bradford-based supermarket giant Morrisons has revealed a budget Christmas feast costing £2.49 per person in response to “tough economic times”.
The company, which has its headquarters in Gain Lane, has announced its cheapest-ever festive dinner for a family of eight this week.
The menu includes a 2.6 to 3.8kg turkey, Maris Piper potatoes, frozen sprouts, parsnips, carrots, sage and onion stuffing and cranberry sauce. It also features a Christmas pudding, a Christmas Cake, brandy butter and a pack of six mince pies.
Dalton Philips, Morrisons’ chief executive, said: “We’re all only too aware these tough economic times are causing customers to cut back.
“We recognise Christmas lunch can be one of the most special moments of the festive season and we believe it is everybody’s right to enjoy a special Christmas.”
