A visually-impaired ten-year-old Allerton boy went ‘ape’ for a fun-filled tree-top adventure.
Fearless Hasan Sankriwala (pictured) was one of 12 youngsters from Bradford Actionnaires, a club for blind and partially-sighted children who went along to Go Ape Rivington, near Bolton.
The Crossley Heath Primary School pupil climbed trees, negotiated high-wire crossings, and tackled zip-lines and swings.
Hasan said: “Nothing much scares me! I’ve done some fun activities at Actionnaires, but this was a bit different.”
The day out last Saturday was organised by Action for Blind People.
Karen Boyes, from Action for Blind People, said: “Social interaction is very important to visually-impaired youngsters, who often lead isolated lives.
“If blind and partially-sighted children can’t play, how can they develop? Challenging activities, like the zip-wire and tree climbing, encourage teamwork, interaction and competitive fun.
“Hasan and the other children had a great time Going Ape! I would like to thank Bradford Short Breaks for Disabled Children who sponsored the trip for us.”
Bradford Actionnaires is one of 26 multi-activity clubs for blind and partially-sighted children.
