The district’s largest social landlord, Incommunities, has given some early festive cheer to an emergency food charity helping people in Bradford with a £1,000 donation.
Bradford Foodbank provides food donations to people in need in Bradford and other parts of the district. Volunteers will also help those who need it get further support.
Each year, Incommunities makes a festive donation to a different charity instead of sending out Christmas cards.
Staff are also setting up collection points for food donations in its offices so people can make their own donations.
Geraldine Howley, Incommunities group chief executive, said: “Many families and individuals are struggling to make ends meet and the festive period can really bring home this hardship.
“We feel our contribution to Bradford Foodbank will help make a difference and help the most needy people in food crisis.”
