Two restaurants in the district are in with a chance of scooping the biggest prize in the curry industry’s “Oscars” this month.
The Aagrah in Saltaire Road, Shipley, and Akbars, in Leeds Road, Bradford, are among 108 restaurants nationally shortlisted for the 2012 British Curry Awards.
The results will be announced at a black tie dinner at London’s Battersea Evolution on Monday, November 26.
More than a quarter of a million public nominations were received for this year’s awards, and the shortlisted restaurants have been whittled down from an initial list of more than 3,800 that received at least one nomination.
The British Curry Awards are recognised as the industry’s premier prize. As well as the ten winners a further ten restaurants will be given special recognition for their exceptional achievements over several years.
