Festive designs are being sought from young people and children across the district for the Telegraph & Argus digital Christmas card competition.

Supermarket giant Tesco has been announced as the sponsor of this year’s competition, which is open to all children aged four to 14.

An iPad is up for grabs for the overall winner, as judged by T&A editor Perry Austin-Clarke, while Tesco shopping vouchers worth £100 will go to each of the winners from the three age groups – four to six, seven to ten and 11 to 14 – as chosen by our readers.

The overall winner will also have the privilege of having their design used by the T&A for our 2012 digital e-Christmas card.

Designs can feature anything as long as it has a clear Christmas theme.

Carl Foster, Tesco Bradford Peel store manager, said: “We are delighted to be sponsoring this year’s Telegraph & Argus Christmas card competition.

“As a store we are passionate about working with and supporting the local community and this is a great competition to highlight local children’s creativity.

“We have a lot of families and young shoppers visiting our stores so we hope that they will take part and we look forward to seeing the entries and meeting the winner.”

The e-card will be e-mailed out to hundreds of our clients, customers and contacts as well as to some of the most important people in Bradford.

To enter, all you need to do is paint or draw a colour Christmas scene, complete with a Christmas greeting, on one of the competition entry forms we have sent out to schools around the district.

Entry forms are available to print off by clicking here, and alscan also be picked up at Tesco stores in Bradford.

Once completed, fill in the coupon alongside the picture.

After the closing date, a panel of judges will pick the best entries from across the district to appear in a T&A supplement on Friday, November 30, and readers will be invited to vote for their favourite by text or phone. The winners will be announced in the T&A during the week beginning Monday, December 10.

Completed entries should be sent to the T&A Christmas card competition, c/o Sue Bains, Editorial Department, Telegraph & Argus, Hall Ings, Bradford BD1 1JR.
