Description:

Woodhouse Grove is a co-educational community where boys and girls can flourish, learning together and being properly prepared for the world beyond the classroom.

Established as a boarding school in 1812 for the sons of Methodist Ministers, Woodhouse Grove School now provides a first class all-round education for pupils aged from 3 to 18 years. Situated on a 70-acre campus in beautiful parkland at Apperley Bridge, between Leeds and Bradford, The Grove enjoys a lovely rural position and yet is conveniently located close to the major airports and transport networks, allowing easy travelling for our students who live overseas.

Day pupils and boarders alike enjoy our excellent facilities, which include new boarding accommodation, state-of-the-art sports and performing arts centre, a new dining hall and a new high tech music and drama block. Our high academic standards, reflected in our 100% pass rate at A level, ensure that annually over 95% of leavers go on to universities including Oxford and Cambridge. Our outstanding sporting reputation, wide range of extra-curricular activities and well established cultural and pastoral strengths combine to ensure that the Grove provides your child with an all-round education.

Activities: We offer a wide range of extra-curricular activities which includes sport, music and drama, dance, IT, and languages, chess and the very popular Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme. There are numerous trips and excursions during the school year, which range from ski trips to Europe to geography field trips to Iceland and New York.

Facilities: Well equipped modern teaching facilities, state-of-the-art sports centre, multi-gym and fitness suite, theatre, high tech music and drama building, swimming pool, squash courts, outdoor floodlit courts, indoor sports hall, sixth form centre, junior and senior boarding houses. Plans for the future include a new swimming pool and a second sports hall, an ADT Centre and a new Art Department

Forthcoming Events: Our Open Mornings will be held on Saturday 25th September and Saturday 6 November 2010. Doors open at 9.30 am until 12.00 noon and the Headmaster will give his welcome address at 11.00 am.
