TOURISM organisation Visit Bradford is urging people not to miss out on a special art exhibition at Cartwright Hall.
The Bradford art gallery is hosting Looking Is A Very Positive Act, examining the early work of David Hockney, until February 22.
It showcases Bradford’s unique collection, many from the artist’s time at Bradford College of Art in the 1950s, and provides a general introduction into Hockney’s early drawing, painting, printmaking and photography.
Included in the exhibition is the important Self-Portrait collage on newsprint, from 1954.
Last year, Hockney’s painting My Parents, from 1977 — which is included in the national collection of Tate London – was voted to be the nation’s favourite by over 38,000 people.
