BRADFORD City Park will be turned into a giant playground for children, young people and families to enjoy on Saturday.

The Big City Play Day will include a climbing tower, circus skills, DJing, den building, arts and crafts, sports games, face painting, scrap and loose parts play.

Councillor Michelle Swallow, Bradford Council’s Play Champion, said: "I am thrilled that we are able to continue to offer such a great event for the district, and I will certainly be attending with my own children.

"I am looking forward to a full and varied programme of events for children, young people and families to enjoy throughout the summer.”

The Big City Play Day event has been organised by the Council and lead partners and members of the district’s Play Partnership Executive which is committed to improving the lives of children and young people through play and play work.

Councillor Susan Hinchcliffe, the executive member for education, skills and culture, said: "This will be a fantastic event that’s open to all children and families to come along and enjoy.

"Keeping children active is so important to a child’s development. This event and the other summer activities taking place will give children and young people across our district the opportunity to learn whilst having fun."

The event takes place from 1pm to 4pm.
