The footage and still pictures taken by the residents of flats above Ivegate in Bradford make for disturbing viewing.
Anti-social behaviour such as that depicted in the streets below is a major concern for all those who work hard to make the city centre a safe and prosperous place.
With the huge amount of development and regeneration going on in central Bradford, this is not the type of image the city needs to project.
It is all very well saying that Bradford is no worse than many other cities, but more concrete efforts need to be made to stamp out incidents such as these, especially as people are being encouraged to live in the city centre.
There are large numbers of apartments and flats being developed in the city's streets and the last thing anyone needs is for the centre to get a bad reputation.
Bradford has a heavy CCTV coverage and if residents can assemble such damning evidence themselves then surely the authorities can assemble even clearer footage.
The police must take a serious view of such behaviour and bring the weight of the law against those who are responsible for it.
And Bradford Council needs to work with the police to crack down on such incidents once and for all to stop the situation growing into a long-term problem.
