Yikes Scooby, is that a life-size Mystery Machine? It sure is, and it's coming to Bradford's Alhambra Theatre next week. Scooby-Doo Live hits the stage, with Shaggy, Fred and the gang solving yet another supernatural mystery. Lots of fun for youngsters from five-upwards and for parents who grew up watching the show. Tomorrow and Sunday you can enjoy a nostalgic trip down memory lane at the Haworth 1940s weekend. It promises to be bigger than ever, with a fly-past from a Spitfire and a Hurricane on Saturday, evacuees' arrival on Sunday, military vehicles and a visit by both the Queen Mother and Winston Churchill during the weekend. On Friday and Saturday nights there will be Forties-themed dances. Parking is always limited, so why not park at Keighley, Ingrow or Oxenhope railway stations and catch a steam train into Haworth.

Organised by music fanzine Mono, gig promoter Granadaland and Bradford Theatres, it's a series of gigs showcasing local bands, kicking off at St George's Hall next Friday at 7.30pm. Headlining the gig is Leeds-based five-piece Duels, and the other acts are Shipley folk-pop singer-songwriter Laura Groves, Bradford indie rockers Analog Bombs and Bradford three-piece Monty Casino. Calling all Meatloaf fans. Tribute act Dead Ringer from Hell is at St George's Hall next Thursday at 7.30pm. Using snappy dialogue and the music of the big man himself, the show tells the tale of the Dead Ringer, a Meatloaf-esque rock star and his turbulent relationship with his chick' Ginger and backing singers the Dead Bettys who are on loan from the Devil. Adventure is the theme of this year's Pudsey Carnival tomorrow.
