THE first of the three days of graduation ceremonies were held at the University of Bradford yesterday.
And as well as thousands of students who will be donning cap and gown for the events, held in the university’s Great Hall, a number of notable figures will be made honorary graduates of the university.
Yesterday saw ceremonies for students from the Faculty of Engineering and Informatics, followed by the Faculty of Management & Law.
Today will be the turn for students from the Faculty of Social Sciences and the Faculty of Health Studies.
One of the honourary graduates who attended yesterday’s ceremonies was Paul Jagger, a former Pro Chancellor of the University, the former TUC regional secretary, and a former board member of Yorkshire Forward.
Mr Jagger was Regional Secretary of the TUC from 1987 to 2006, during which time it became the first trade union structure in England and Wales to receive funding for the development of workplace training through the trade union network.
