A SPECIAL school in Bradford has been praised for carrying out a "relentless programme of improvement."

Delius Special School on Barkerend Road was visited by Ofsted inspectors last month, and they have since written to head Sally Joy to say the school has maintained its "good" rating.

It was the first short inspection carried out since the school was judged to be good in June 2013.

The school caters for pupils with profound and multiple, or severe learning difficulties.

The letter from Ofsted inspector Marian Thomas says: "The leadership team has maintained the good quality of education in the school since the last inspection by carrying out a relentless programme of improvement.

"From the very start of the inspection the whole leadership team demonstrated their passion for improving outcomes for every child who attends the school.

"Your encyclopaedic knowledge of the needs of all pupils is admirable."
