PUPILS at a primary school have been taking part in workshops with Bradford College students to learn more about life after school.

Students from the College’s Student Engagement and Outreach Team first visited pupils from St Matthew’s Church of England Primary School in Mayo Avenue, Bradford, as part of the Year 6 Careers Week last year.

The event was organised to encourage the pupils to have high aspirations and think seriously about further and higher education at a young age.

A second session, called Your Future and Higher Education, has now been held at the school giving pupils an insight into studying and the college students answered questions about courses, entry requirements and the costs involved

In July, 60 Year 6 pupils will visit the college to meet students and see what courses are available.

Kay Remmer, acting head teacher, said: “The sessions with the students will help our Year 6 pupils to make well-informed decisions about their future.

"We hope all the session will help the pupils aspire to engage in higher qualifications and to be the best that they can be."
