PETS at Home said its half-year sales jumped ten per cent after it opened new stores and rolled out more of its vets practices and pampering Groom Rooms.
The chain, which runs 385 pet shops with branches in Bradford, Keighley, Guiseley, Birstall and Halifax, and 303 vets practices, has also seen strong trading at those stores open for more than a year after like-for-like sales rose by 4.2 per cent in the 28 weeks to October 9. Total sales rose to £381.5 million.
A strong driver of growth has been revenues from services, which jumped 27 per cent to £33.2 million amid demand for its vet practices and Groom Rooms. The business added 600,000 customers to its VIP Club loyalty programme allowing it to hit 2.6 million members.
