Winner: Ring O’Bells, Thornton

A family-owned pub proud to be flying the flag for Bradford caught the judges’ eye in this category.

The Ring O’Bells, in Thornton, is a traditional, welcoming Yorkshire pub with a reputation for great cuisine, especially its signature pies.

It prides itself on the cosy and welcoming ambience offered to all customers, whether they are visiting for a romantic dinner for two or a grand wedding reception.

The Ring O’Bells says it has something to offer each and every customer.

Co-owner Anne Preston accepted the award on behalf of all the pub staff. She said: “We were finalists last year and now I’m just absolutely thrilled and very proud to receive this on behalf of all the staff.

“It is a family business and we have had the business now for 22 years, so this means a lot to us really.

“I am so proud of what we have achieved over our 22 years.”

Anne said she was grateful to her customers for coming from far and wide to the Ring O’Bells.

She said: “People come to us from surrounding areas and from far afield.

“It means so much that people love coming.

“They value what we do, they recognise what we do and the quality and the value of our food and our service.”

Anne said it was particularly special to be recognised by the Bradford business community, as the pub was very proud of its home city.

She said: “We like to think we do our little bit for Bradford. We are proud to support Bradford and fly the flag for Bradford.”
