Bradford law firm Gordons, which recently reported a record turnover of £22 million for the last financial year, has appointed six new trainee solicitors.

The new recruits will join Gordons’ teams in business recovery and restructuring, personal injury, commercial property and commercial litigation.

Philip Padget, training partner and head of employment, said: “As we continue to grow it is essential that we ensure our trainee intake provides us with talented and ambitious individuals.

“This year’s new trainees demonstrated that they have a great deal of potential during the interview process and we are looking forward to developing them over the next two years.”

The trainees are Elliot Jackson, who will start training in business recovery and restructuring; Graham Peycke, personal injury; Laura Foley; commercial property, Sallyanne Veitch, commercial property, Sophie McKelvey, commercial litigation, and Jonathan Smith, risk and compliance.

Seven second year trainees at the Bradford and Leeds offices of Gordons recently qualified as solicitors and have been retained by the practice as part of its controlled growth strategy.

Gordons is one of the UK’s top 100 legal practices and employs 250 people, 180 of which are fee earners.

The firm’s clients include Bradford-based Morrisons supermarkets, construction and high performance materials manufacturer Saint Gobain, international brewers Molson Coors, greetings card retailer Card Factory and the world’s largest electrical heating business Glen Dimplex.
