A BUTCHER has proved to be a cut above the rest in a prestigious national contest.
Ellisons won a string of accolades in the Butchers Q Guild Smithfield Awards, regarded as one of the toughest product evaluation tests in the country.
The business based in Halifax Road, Cullingworth, collected gold awards for its thick and thin pork sausages, traditional gluten-free sausage, brisket burger, eight-ounce beef and wild mushroom burger and dry cured back bacon.
Awards were presented at a ceremony in Ironmongers Hall, London, by acclaimed food writer and critic Tom Parker Bowles.
Ellisons Butchers has picked up numerous honours over the years, particularly for its sausages.
John Ellison (pictured), for the business, said he was delighted with the latest medal haul.
