A SHARE price slump followed the departure of travel chief Harriet Green, who is credited with ensuring the survival of historic Thomas Cook .

Miss Green (pictured), who has departed after just two years, joined Cook from Leeds-based technology distributor Premier Farnell, where she was chief executive.

Her turnaround plan for the travel giant which started life in the 1840s, resulted in heavy job losses in the Bradford district.

Thomas Cook abandoned its Bradford call centre in Aldermanbury with the loss of about 500 jobs in March 2013. Harriet Green has been replaced by chief operating officer Peter Fankhauser, who is credited with leading the turnaround of its UK division.
