Jonathan Oxley has been appointed vice-chairman at the Yorkshire Institute of Directors.
He is already chairman of West Yorkshire IoD and will work alongside regional chairman Peter Holmes to promote the work of the business-lobbying group in Yorkshire.
Mr Oxley is a director in the corporate finance department of Yorkshire law firm Lupton Fawcett Denison Till.
He said: “In this wider regional role I also hope to be able to contribute to the growth and success of each of the four IoD branches in Yorkshire “I very much look forward to working with regional chairman Peter Holmes and our regional director to ensure that we are a strong voice on policy issues relevant to our region and that we deliver a programme of events which help our members develop their skills and knowledge as directors.
“In this wider regional role I also hope to be able to contribute to the growth and success of each of the four IoD branches in Yorkshire.”
Peter Holmes added: “Jonathan's experience brings a level of understanding to our committee with respect to the day to day issues faced by growing businesses, not just in terms of gaining finance but in how debt structure within a developing organisation must be designed to allow the business to flourish.
“We have a committee that understands business and that is so important if we are to support our members and sensibly influence policy.”
