Bid to open new nightclub in Bingley

Bradford Telegraph and Argus: Bid to open new nightclub in Bingley Bid to open new nightclub in Bingley

An application has been made for a nightclub in Bingley.

Rory Procter has applied to open the club in Chapel Lane, Bingley, which would be open until 4.30am on Fridays and Saturdays.

His application says Bingley is lacking a late-night venue, which means people are choosing to go out elsewhere.

He said: “If there was a complete circuit in Bingley once again the local pubs would be busier, people would visit Bingley instead of neighbouring towns to spend their money and there would be more jobs to be had for Bingley people.”

The application goes before Bradford District Licensing Panel on Monday.

Bingley is a horrid night out. On the few occasions that I've been, it's full of rough lads who have too much to drink and just want to fight. It's vile and I avoid it after 6pm on a weekend.
Much safer and nicer in Saltaire or Bradford's a North Parade area; Sparrow, City Gent, Dime Bar...

I believe a nightclub venue could be a good idea, if they invest wisely on a nice venue to be in, over 25's only and a strict smart dress policy. They must make this a yob free and more upmarket establishment that Prince Harry would be proud to enter.

Sandalwood you and me too are old school ,i tend to stick to the pub side nowadays ,plenty nightclubs in the big city (oops sorry meant bradford )If you want a late night in Bingley try the Locks open till 3.00 am weekends and keeps all the dregs in one place ,therefore they dont have to stray in to decent peoples territory , as for a nightclub in Bingley forget it WE DONT NEED AND DONT WANT ONE ,

Agree, there always used to be a club in Bingley, I used to go to Porky's 30 years ago, was a brilliant club for the youths of Bingley, actually, Bingleu used to have 2 night clubs, the other was Oakwood Hall, up opposite Prince of wales park, dont remember trouble back then, went to both for years.

A night club in Bingley once again is a great idea.

Bingley needs support from the Council to thrive again: save the swimming pool, save the public toilets, sort the old B&B building out asap, get traders in and attract people to come and spend their hard earned cash in the local businesses.
What it DOESN'T need is a night club when other pubs/bars are already opened late at week-ends. A night club will NOT help rejuvenate the town. Trouble from yobs, drunk etc... in Bingley always happens around and in similar pubs/bars to what is proposed for this new place. I'm sure the residents of the flats nearby are delighted by the news. Let's hope the Licensing Panel will see sense and reject the application.
