A FIRE at a disused section of the former Leeds Road Hospital building in Bradford is being treated as a suspected arson.
Two crews from Bradford fire station were called to Maudsley Street at around 3.20pm on Saturday.
The other section of the building, used as a Marie Curie Hospice, was unaffected as the fire did not spread. There were a couple of small fires in the derelict section too.
No-one was injured or suffered from smoke inhalation in the incident.
Crew Commander Chris Hargreaves, of Bradford Fire Station, said: "The building was vandalised, windows were smashed.
"The fire was identified quickly and crews got there before it became a more serious matter.
"It is being treated as a suspected arson."
