Keighley MP Kris Hopkins says figures which show booming business for Yorkshire manufacturing firms are further evidence of a growing economy.
During the past three months, companies in this region have attracted more orders than those in any other part of the UK.
A joint survey by industry body EEF and accountancy firm BDO found that over half of Yorkshire-based manufacturers had seen increased orders in the last quarter.
And 39 per cent of companies recruited more workers.
Mr Hopkins said: "It is very clear that business confidence is beginning to flow through the economy and as a Yorkshire MP it is particularly pleasing that confidence in our region’s manufacturing sector is truly on the up, with tangible results being felt through increased orders.
“The direct benefits of growing order books are more jobs as firms move to recruit, and a boost to the local economy as money is put into people’s pockets."
